Myrtha Pools has officially opened a new company, Myrtha Pools Canada Ltd.
Myrtha Pools Canada is now operational and working with our network of dealers and clients on sales development, project engineering, technical services, and warranty support.
Toronto, Ontario: A&T Europe Spa is proud to announce the launch of Myrtha Pools Canada Inc. , the new exclusive business development and service provider for Canada. Dan Thompson, a business leader with extensive expertise in the aquatic industry and business development, lead the creation of Myrtha Pools Canada.
He was appointed to the position by Roberto Colletto, the company's CEO, and Giorgio Colletto, its Chairman. "Dan brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to this leadership role," said Roberto Colletto. "An Olympic swimmer himself, Dan understands the requirements for creating world-class, sports-friendly aquatic environments that exceed the expectations of all stakeholders. Combined with his marketing and management experience, he is a leader who can truly inspire and ensure the quality execution of Myrtha Pools' world-leading technology. We are confident that Dan will be a great leader for Myrtha Pools Canada,” said Giorgio Colletto.
Thompson, who was a member of Canada’s National Swim Team for seven years and an Olympian coached by Trevor Tiffany (Chairman of Myrtha Pools USA), was due to participate in the 1980 Summer Olympics, which ultimately ended up being boycotted. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Physical and Health Education from the University of Toronto and moved into the corporate marketing world after his competitive swimming career ended. He then went on to lead one of Canada’s largest sponsorship marketing agencies. Dan also spent six years as a resident of Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities, a foundation dedicated to helping disadvantaged children participate in sports and recreational activities, and during this time he was exposed to municipalities from across Canada.
Throughout his 30-year business career, Dan’s love for aquatics has never wavered, serving as the volunteer president of Swim Canada and director of aquatics for Canada from 2005 to 2009. More recently, he served on the board of the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario and the 2015 Pan Am Games sports programme and legacy committee, and he currently serves as the volunteer president of Swim Ontario. Dan is also an avid master swimmer and holds several FINA world master’s records in the butterfly.
Dan is ready to take on the challenges of his new role. “I feel fortunate to have been given the opportunity to lead the development of world-leading modular pool technology,” he said.
