1999 Summer Universiade

July 1999.For the occasion of the University Games, a new Swimming Center was built in Son Hugo, Palma de Mallorca, fitted with the most advanced technological equipment available at that time.

Architect Joaquin Pujol, who signed this highly prestigious project, chose Myrtha Technology for all the 3 swimming pools of the Centre.Another advantage of Myrtha Pools for Son Hugo was the capacity to combine competition accessories and features with other more transversal elements. An example is the indoor pool equipped with two movable bulkheads and a completely renovated movable floor, to reduce the depth of the tank: elements that also promote learning courses and other water activities. In addition, two noteworthy competition features include the Myrtha Track Start starting blocks and the computational fluid dynamics studies that have made it possible to design Son Hugo's pools according to FINA standards.
