Belgrade 2016 – 32nd European Water Polo Championships

January 2016. The 32nd European Water Polo Championships took place in Belgrade, the capital city of Serbia and place of culture, inspiration, sports and festivals.

The long-awaited competitions was held in the Kombank Arena, the largest indoor arena in the city which offers 25 thousand seating and which often houses sports and cultural events and other programmes.

With a total of 100 matches, these competitions has been the most important European Water Polo Championships ever held: 16 male and 12 female teams competed for the first place, in order to qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games (except Serbia, Croatia and Greece, already qualified for Rio), that were held in Rio de Janeiro in August, 2016.

For this important event, Myrtha Pools installed two temporary pools a competition pool and a warm-up pool- using Myrtha technology. Both the pools were equipped with Strahlenturbulenz inlets circulation system, which guarantees uniform distribution of treated water throughout the pool.
