Located in Bangkok, the Hua Mak Sports Complex has been fully renewed as part of the 2025 Southeast Asian Games, serving as a competition venue for swimming events.
The existing 50-metre pool has been completely rebuilt using Myrtha technology, transforming the venue into an Olympic-size facility designed to meet the technical and operational requirements of a major continental competition. The Southeast Asian Games are among Asia’s most established multi-sport events, with swimming included in the programme since their first edition in 1959.
The intervention goes beyond the pool itself, encompassing the entire aquatic complex, including deck areas, spectator stands and circulation spaces, aligning the venue with contemporary competition standards. The pool is equipped with 20 Myrtha Track Start starting blocks, removable headwalls and a movable bulkhead, allowing the basin to be divided and configured according to training or competition requirements. This flexibility supports simultaneous activities while ensuring optimal conditions for high-level performance.
The full reconstruction of the aquatic facilities was completed in just 60 days. The project was delivered with the support of Myrtha’s local partner, S. Napa Thailand.
