Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre

The historic Canadian pool at the Ruben Yli-Juuti Centre in Elliot Lake, Ontario, has undergone a major renovation to provide the community with a modern, efficient, and durable facility.

The renovation was necessary due to the condition of the existing structure, which had cracks in the pool and faulty piping that caused water leaks. Thanks to Myrtha Pools' RenovAction technology, the project was completed with controlled costs, minimised closure times, and reduced emissions. Myrtha successfully met the client's sustainability requirements and overcame the technical challenges of the project.

Myrtha's modular system allowed a 25-metre pool to be upgraded without demolition, using bolted stainless steel panels known for their strength and reliability. This approach eliminated the need for welded joints, which are prone to corrosion. In addition, Myrtha's hot-laminated panels ensure perfect waterproofing and exceptional resistance to disinfectants, guaranteeing the long-term durability of Elliot Lake's new aquatic centre.

The renovation also included a smaller, square pool, refurbished with Myrtha’s RenovAction and Myrtha Skin technologies. To enhance user experience and safety, both pools were equipped with an anti-slip membrane and Soft Floor, offering additional comfort and stability. Thanks to Myrtha's technologies, the new pools will provide the community of Elliot Lake with an efficient, long-lasting, and high-performance aquatic facility.
