The Veer Savarkar Sports Complex in Ahmedabad served as the venue for the Asian Aquatics Championships 2025, a landmark moment for India’s competitive swimming landscape and the country’s first experience as host nation.
The Championships brought together more than 1,100 participants across swimming, artistic swimming, diving and water polo, positioning Ahmedabad among Asia’s focal points for aquatics and strengthening India’s role within the regional sporting calendar. The event also served as a qualifier for the 2026 Asian Games, further elevating its sporting significance. In addition to the medal races, the week-long programme demonstrated the venue’s capacity to stage large-scale events, reinforcing its suitability for future international competitions.
Designed to support both elite occasions and community access, the complex comprises three Myrtha pools built to international standards: an Olympic-size competition pool, a diving pool and an outdoor warm-up pool. The competition pool is equipped with removable headwalls, Myrtha Track Start blocks, backstroke systems and a movable bulkhead, offering adaptable layouts for varied competition formats.

Supporting this infrastructure, the Strahlenturbulenz circulation system promotes uniform water movement, resulting in cleaner lanes, improved swimmer comfort and stable conditions during extended periods of use, particularly valuable throughout a continuous championship schedule.
Following the Championships, the venue continues to serve as a resource for training pathways, community programmes and elite development, maintaining the legacy of the event while supporting everyday sport and recreation.
