Bill Walker Pool, Northeast Independent School District

Myrtha Pools was selected for the replacement of the Walker Pool Facility for Northeast Independent School District in San Antonio, Texas.

The existing in-ground pool, built in 1960, was renovated using a hybrid system of our patented RenovAction application and our classic free-standing Myrtha technology. This allowed the pool to be widened from 20 yards to 25 yards, enabling the use of 27 cross-course lanes without having to replace the old pool concrete shell.

The new stretch 50-meter pool can be configured for both long and short course, with an additional four warm-up and cool-down lanes using two moveable bulkheads. The four-lane shallow end will also be used for learn-to-swim, aqua-fitness, therapy, and is equipped with Myrtha’s user-friendly Soft Floor.

The renovated Walker Pool Facility also included a new two-story aquatic support facility with administrative areas, coaches’ offices, wet classroom/team room, athletic locker and dressing rooms, elevated bleacher seating with a capacity of 750, general pool storage area, and mechanical space.
